Latest figures published by the Office for National Statistics show significant fall in Youth Unemployment

In the latest figures published by the Office for National Statistics, Youth Unemployment has fallen by a record 206,000 over the last year. The biggest drop since the records were started in 1984. Current Youth Unemployment stands at 6.4%, which is the lowest since 2008. The youth unemployment rate is down 4.5 percentage points compared to a year ago.

This has contributed to overall improvements in the levels of unemployment which fell by 437,000 over the past year – and 132,000 in only the past 3 months – which is the biggest annual fall in 25 years.
