Tydfil Training and Rehab JobFit were delighted to announce the recent official opening of the Merthyr Tydfil Enterprise Centre, MTE3C. This project represents a collaboration involving Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council, Tydfil Training, Taste of Enterprise and Rehab JobFit.
The MTE3C project successfully secured capital funding of £132k from Welsh Government’s Vibrant & Viable Places Programme. This funding enabled the creation of an Enterprise Centre, fully equipped with a digital hub providing cutting edge equipment and a solar energy sustainability project, showcasing information on energy efficiency, increasing awareness of customers and other local businesses.
Additionally MTE3C provides Incubation and test trading facilities, allowing virtually any business the opportunity to trial their ideas in a low risk and supported environment.
Rehab JobFit, Prime contract holder of the Government’s Work Programme, have invested revenue funding of £50k into MTE C via their Innovation Programme, which has been an invaluable addition. This support enables Work Programme customers to undertake a development programme enhancing their personal and business skills.
“The financial investment from Rehab JobFit enabled this project to hit the ground running. We are delighted to see our Work Programme customers developing their business ideas and enhancing their skill levels. We are confident this will lead to an increase in sustainable business start-ups. This partnership approach proves that collaboration really works!”

The project represents the commitment and support of all collaborative parties and the ongoing investment in the regeneration of the Merthyr Tydfil community.
