Swindon man returns from injury to a secure new future

Pernell internalPernell was first referred to the TBG Learning centre in Swindon in February 2015. He had not worked for some time due to a knee injury from an accident at work.

Pernell’s background had primarily been security work. As he still held his valid SIA badges, he wished to return to a similar role should he be able to following his recovery.

Pernell began to feel bored whilst stuck at home, so was very open to any training courses that his injury permitted. He attended many sessions which helped improve his confidence and made him more work ready. Following the courses, Pernell had an up to date CV and had gained a certificate in Functional Skills
Maths entry level 3 and also passed a Functional Skills English course.

In July Pernell fit and was ready to apply for full time employment so booked on to a job search session and applied for roles online with his adviser Bradley. He applied for three security vacancies and successfully secured and interview with Total Security the following week. The interview involved two days training in Bristol for which Pernell received funds for his train travel and was also provided with a pair of smart black trousers.

Pernell attended the training and was once again successful. He is now awaiting a start date for a full time security position and looking forward to returning to work.

Congratulations Pernell.
